Why consumers should revisit Home Improvement quotes during winter months?

Winter negotiations with local contractors might prove to be the best thing you could do.

As a small business owner in a unstable economy we begin to see trends over the years. Many consumers get an initial bid on a home improvment project see the price and it ends up in a file to be revisited down the road. Many of us are holding onto our money and waiting for the market to stabalize. However what many consumers are unaware of is that in an economy such as the one we are in makes us more willing to negotiate in months that would once be considered our off months. In my industry for example our down season can range anywhere from December to the begining of April and by down i dont mean that we are incapable of working but instead consumers are unaware that we are still working year round.

In the winter months most contactors are slow its a never ending battle trying to keep our crews busy, In those slow months however we have the time to negotiate. In summer months we are so busy trying to keep up with the work loads we already have to be able to negotiate like we would like to be able to. However if you are like me and have been sitting on a project bid due to minor pricing discreapancies it might be time to dust off those bids and give your local contractor a call.

Most companies in the winter months are willing to negotiate at up to a 10% discount depending on the company and industry during winter months. This could mean huge savings on your potential impending projects. So in theory it could be quite benificial to both you and your contractor by trying to negotiate during the winter months. Give your contactor a call see what deals can be made all you have to loose is the time in making the call.
